Snyder Kenney & Mercado, LLC (SKM Law Group) is seeking to hire a Family Law Attorney to join our growing team in Parsippany, New Jersey. This is a full-time role, in the office (with potential for remote days). We are a high-performance litigation group with significant experience in all areas of family law matters, including divorce, contested custody disputes, complex and significant equitable distribution and support claims, adoption, and domestic violence litigation. This Attorney will assist in all aspects of the firm’s cases and will have the opportunity to work directly with clients. 

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of family law experience and must have strong, client-centered communication, research, and legal writing skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day tasks of a diverse caseload of family law matters with minimal supervision, including communicating with clients, adverse attorneys, and the Court, and overseeing the progression of discovery;
  • Preparing pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents;
  • Participating in settlement negotiations and mediation, including drafting agreed-upon resolutions;
  • Assisting partners with legal research, drafting, and trial preparation.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited school.
  • Member of the NJ Bar in good standing.
  • Family Law Clerkship preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in family law.
